Brenda's Personal PN Story Line
i was born with hip dysplasia and was a lightweight all through high school.  i gained an enormous amount of weight, gaining and loosing, exercising and dieting, weightlifting and walking..and then about a year ago the pain in my feet got a lot worse and i saw a dr and was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy..

i became so bad i was no longer able to walk the several miles i had for exercise, nor lift the weights.   needless to say the weight i had lost again all came back with a vengeance..especially now that i was much more sedentary and in a lot of discomfort and pain..

i am still waiting on a visit to a neuropathy clinic for further diagnosis and treatment.  other than the hip problems and sleep apnea and the fact that i'm very overweight i am in good overall health..verified by a physical in February 2002.

because i have been waiting so long for any help from the dr's i decided to get on the net and try to help myself..realizing that my body was literally falling apart from lack of exercise and the overweight..and the neuropathy seemed to be getting worse and i was now beginning to experience more symptoms of increasing proportions.

i really don't feel that i have anyone that i can talk to about this situation..i am married but my husband has a head injury and stress is something he can't take..he is sweet but i just can't burden him with this anymore..he is on meds for his own depression.

i also would like to know if someone who has not worked a lot outside of the home, and doesn't qualify for social security can get any help financially ..could i maybe get disability even though i haven't paid in much in social security??

Does anyone have any info on diet and exercises that could help..i am NOT a diabetic.

i am trying now to get back into the walking..got some better shoes for support.. and am trying to use theraputty to exercise my fingers..but i just got started all over again and it is a long road ahead for me...and i just turned 51..

i would love to talk with people who would like to talk with me about any of the above ..thanks..
