Wow! I don't know if I can type all this but I will try to be as brief as my typing-one-finger-skill will allow. Name: Kay----age: 63---diagnosis: MS (1978), non-insulin dependant diabetes(1985) , PN(1990)---

Currently, I walk with a cane and do pretty well on the new Avonex injections(give it to myself). However, the pain from the PN is really bad. I try not to think about it too much. I just try to keep going. My blood sugar levels stay good with diet and glucophage.

I take a mess of meds and have tried to keep dosages as low as possible. I have tried to do without them at various times. It seems that I need what I take.

I take glucophage, synthroid, detrol, neurontin, prozac, sinemet, clonodine. I use capsaine lotion on my feet, sometimes arnica gel and most often nothing.

I would like to know any success stories with GLA. I went to Dr. Neiper in Germany, in 1978 and took his Calcium EAP IV injections weekly for almost 18 years with great results. I stopped that when Avonex became available a few years ago. I just today started elavil along with what I already take. If this does not help the pain, the neurologist suggests plasmaphoresis in three weeks. I'm just "hanging in".
