From the Limited Edition, Megadeth Interview disc released by Capitol in 1992
as a promotional item for Countdown To Extinction, here we have David
Ellefson talking about the back cover artwork for this album... one of the
cooler images they've had over the years, in my opinion.

Ever wonder what Marty's solo stuff sounds like, but you either didn't want
to buy it or just couldn't find it anywhere? Well, you've found it here.
This is a clip from the end of the song "Night" off of his "Scenes" album,
released in 1992. It isn't heavy like Megadeth stuff ( some people think it
will be ) but that doesn't mean that it isn't cool.

To the best of my knowledge, Megadeth only played their song Victory once
ever. That was at the show which was filmed for the Megadeth Holloween
Special on MTV in 1994. It was the last song of the setlist. If you have or
know of any other recordings of this track, I'd be happy to know about
them.

Ever wonder just what the Countdown To Extinction mentioned on Megadeth's
album by that same name really was? Dave will answer that question in the
sound which, like the David Ellefson clip above, came off of the Megadeth
Interview promo.

Heard One Thing yet? Heard of One Thing yet? It's the special bonus
track for the Japanese version of the Cryptic Writings album. Here you can
get a sample of it. Wonder what the noises in the beginning are from? Well
so do I; I'm sorry I can't answer that one for you...

Dave, from off of the Megadeth Interview promo again, talks about what it
means to be a real band and really be out there in the world. That's just
about all there is to say about that one.

From the same studio outtakes that Chosen Ones came from last month, here we
have Wake Up Dead. Why were Chosen Ones and Wake Up Dead done at the same
time? Well, they weren't but both songs had been written in 1985 when
Megadeth first entered the studio, and nobody knew which songs would be on
their first album yet.
|
|
An even earlier Megadeth recording, one of the oldest known, this is the
demo version of Mechanix ( oops, hehehe ). It was recorded in 1984, though
some sources say that it was 1983 and I can't be 100% sure which, though
1984 makes more sense to me. The recording quality is kind of bad, but some
people even like that, so...

Now you'll have to sit through another track off of the Megadeth Interview
promo. This is an interview with Marty about the band's opinions. I think
that from the way he says it, he really cares about this stuff, unlike a lot
of people who are just angry because it's trendy to do so.
